  • SAA Announces Fall All-Sportsmanship Teams

    ATLANTA - The SAA announced the 2016 Fall Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams and 55 student-athletes among the league's eight full-time members and three affiliate members received recognition. Formed in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play amongst all competitors.
  • Watkins Special Teams POTY, Four Named All-Conference

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern football team saw four named to Southern Athletic Association All-Conference teams Tuesday. Junior Jamal Watkins (Hampton, Ga./Dodge City CC) was named SAA Special Teams Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. He finished the season 445 kick return yards, averaging 107.6 per game, and was one of the league’s leading scorers among non-kickers.
  • White named New Head Football Coach

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Tony Joe White has been named the new Birmingham-Southern College head football coach, Director of Athletics Kyndall Waters announced Monday. He becomes the sixth head coach in program history, and third since the program resumed in 2007 at the NCAA Division III level. White was most recently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Centre College.

    MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern football team dropped its last game of the 2016 season at Berry College 38-12 Saturday in Valhalla Stadium. The Panthers close the year 1-9 overall, 1-8 in Southern Athletic Association play.
  • Big Comeback on Senior Day Falls Short for Panthers

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern football team put up 30 unanswered second half points to pull within eight against Southern Athletic Association rival Centre College Saturday afternoon at Krulak Stadium. The Panthers (1-9, 1-6 SAA) would eventually fall 45-30 on senior day but not before nearly upsetting the No. 1 team in the league.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern College Director of Athletics Kyndall Waters announced Monday that head football coach Eddie Garfinkle will be relieved of his coaching duties after the team’s final game on November 5.
  • Strong Start Not Enough For Panthers

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern football team scored its first touchdown on a pick-six in its first defensive series, but couldn’t capitalize on the momentum and fell 50-16 to Rhodes College Saturday afternoon. BSC (1-7) moved to 1-5 in the Southern Athletic Association with the loss. Rhodes is now 4-3 on the year, 2-3 in SAA play.
  • 2016 BSC Hall of Fame Class Inducted

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College Hall of Fame class of 2016 was inducted Friday night. Frank “Buddy” Cairns (deceased), Rachel Malmborg Skweres, Joe Nasco, John Quinn, and Joe Thigpen join the long list of Panthers immortalized in the hall.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After fighting back to tie the game before halftime, the Birmingham-Southern football team could not overcome a tough third quarter and fell 41-28 on the road at Southern Athletic Association rival Millsaps College Saturday afternoon.
  • Panthers Drop Conference Game to Hendrix

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team was unable to hand Hendrix College its first loss of the season as the Panthers fell 47-17 at home Saturday afternoon in a Southern Athletic Association game. BSC (1-5, 1-3 SAA) won the time of possession battle on the day.

    CHICAGO, Ill. – Two late touchdowns upended the Birmingham-Southern College football team Saturday as the Panthers fell 38-34 to the University of Chicago on the road. BSC (1-4, 1-2) led for most of the contest before the late rally.
  • Second Half Comeback Lifts Washington Over Panthers

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern football team could not find an answer to Washington University’s second half push, falling 36-21 Saturday afternoon in Krulak Stadium in front of 1,252 fans. The Panthers move to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in Southern Athletic Association play.
  • Football Holds Off Sewanee for 21-16 Win

    SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern football team picked up its first win of the season Saturday afternoon in a 21-16 victory over Southern Athletic Association rival Sewanee on the road. The Panthers (1-2) outrushed Sewanee 234-173 in the win.

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team could not recover from a slow start Saturday night against Huntingdon College for the Wesley Cup. The Panthers fell 49-28 on the road. BSC still leads the Wesley Cup series 4-3 all-time.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team battled tough against LaGrange College in front of over 2,800 fans to open the 2016 season in General Charles C. Krulak Stadium Saturday. But the Panthers couldn’t find an answer to LaGrange’s offense and fell 47-27.
