  • Watkins Headlines 13 SAA All-Conference Nods for Panthers

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern football team closed out its 2017 season with 13 Southern Athletic Association All-Conference honors, the most since 2012.  Jamal Watkins (Hampton, Ga./Dodge City CC) earned his third straight special teams player of the year award.  He is the first in SAA history to win player of the year honors in three consecutive seasons.
  • Byers Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior Matthew Byers (Pelham, Ala./John Carroll Catholic HS) was named to the academic all-district first team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.  This is his first time on the academic all-district team.
  • Andrews Named to Fred Mitchell Award Watch List

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a stellar junior year, Ryder Andrews (Homewood, Ala./Homewood HS) has been named to the Fred Mitchell Award Watch List.  He was one of 41 place-kickers recognized. 
  • BSC Falls to Centre in Season Finale

    DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team fell 42-17 at Centre College Saturday afternoon to close out the season.  BSC finishes the year 3-7 overall, 2-5 against Southern Athletic Association opponents.
  • Panthers Top Millsaps 20-17 in OT on Senior Day

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team held off Millsaps College Saturday afternoon in Krulak Stadium, winning 20-17 in overtime.  BSC (3-6) improved to 2-5 in the Southern Athletic Association with the win on senior day.
  • BSC Battles No. 20 Berry, Falls 35-18

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team battled Saturday afternoon against Southern Athletic Association rival No. 20 Berry College in Krulak Stadium.  The Panthers (2-6, 1-5 SAA) would fall 35-18 in a physical game.
  • Byers Named to D3football.com Team of the Week

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern College football senior Matthew Byers (Pelham, Ala./John Carroll Catholic HS) was named to the D3football.com Defensive Team of the Week Tuesday evening. This is the first award for the defensive back this season.
  • Panthers Hold Off Austin for 31-24 Win

    SHERMAN, Texas – The Birmingham-Southern College football team held off Austin College 31-24 to pick up its first conference win of the season. BSC improved to 2-5 overall, 1-4 against Southern Athletic Association opponents.
  • BSC Falls to Sewanee on Homecoming

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team dropped its home game against Sewanee 34-13 Saturday afternoon on Homecoming.  The Panthers move to 1-5 overall.
  • Slow Start Downs Panthers at Hendrix

    CONWAY, Ark. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team fell 42-24 on the road at Hendrix College Saturday afternoon in Southern Athletic Association play.  BSC (1-4, 0-3 SAA) stifled the Warriors scoring in the final three quarters, but could not overcome a slow start.
  • BSC Comeback Falls Short Against Trinity

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team could not overcome a slow start at home against Trinity University Saturday afternoon.  The BSC defense held Trinity scoreless for over 20 minutes at the end of the game, but the offense was unable to make up the gap as they fell 26-20 in Krulak Stadium.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern College football senior Cole Murphy (Gaylesville, Ala./Gaylesville HS) was named to the D3football.com Defensive Team of the Week.  This is the first award for the linebacker this season.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team dropped its Southern Athletic Association opener Saturday afternoon 35-9 on the road at Rhodes College.

    ATLANTA – Birmingham-Southern junior punter and place kicker Ryder Andrews was named the Southern Athletic Association Football Special Teams Player of the Week, the SAA announced Monday.
  • Panthers Drop 45-38 Thriller in Home Opener Against Huntingdon

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team unleashed its offense in front of a record crowd of 2,800 people in Krulak Stadium Saturday night.  But they could not fend off Huntingdon College down the stretch who came from behind to win 45-38.  BSC moves to 1-1 on the year with the loss.
  • Football Drives to Victory at LaGrange

    LAGRANGE, Ga. – Senior quarterback Kerrigan Pennington (Wagerville, Ala./Washington County HS) found Buddy Dowd (Dothan, Ala./Northview HS) on a 28-yard touchdown pass with one minute left that handed Birmingham-Southern football the 29-25 win over LaGrange College Saturday afternoon.  BSC (1-0) needed only 1:30 to march down the field to victory in the fourth quarter.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern athletics department announced the winners of its big awards and recognized the accomplishments of the student-athletes at its 2017 Athletic Awards Dinner Monday night in the Norton Great Hall on BSC’s campus.
