BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior long snapper Trent Rigby (Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek HS) of Birmingham-Southern football was named a Google Cloud Academic All-American as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Rigby was voted to the second team.
Rigby was one of three Panthers named to all-district teams and is one of four student-athletes recognized on All-America teams from the Southern Athletic Association as one the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Rigby plans to graduate with an accounting degree this spring and holds a 3.92 cumulative GPA. He has played in every game this season and has snapped nearly every field goal and punt attempt since his freshman year. A three-time SAA academic honor roll member and three-time Dean's List honoree, Rigby is involved in Mortar Bard, the Student Center for Public Trust, and Sigma Beta Delta. He has spent time volunteering at the senior center, and helped at community gardens and soup kitchens.
