Carter Blount was hired as Assistant Football Coach in December 2013 and begins his first season with the team. He will be in charge of the cornerback position.
Blount was previously at the University of South Alabama, where he worked under former BSC head coach Joey Jones. Blount was the Defensive Graduate Assistant during the 2013 season, and the Special Teams Graduate Assistant and Specialists Coach in 2011 and 2012. He received his Masters of Education in Health Education this past August.
Prior to working and studying at South Alabama, Blount was the Associate Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and Assistant Linebackers Coach at Tuscaloosa County High School in Tuscaloosa, Ala., during the 2010 season. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 2011 with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science. Blount worked with the Crimson Tide football program as a Special Teams Intern during the 2009 national championship season, and Strength and Conditioning Intern in 2008.
