Kynjee' Cotton was hired as Birmingham-Southern's defensive line coach in February 2015.
Cotton, a native of Daphne, Ala., came to the Hilltop from University of Alabama Birmingham, where he was a graduate assistant for the 2014 season, helping to coach the Blazers' defensive line.
Prior to his stint at UAB, Cotton was a strength and conditioning Intern at the University of Alabama during the fall of 2013, working with football, baseball, and rowing. He also spent time as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery during the spring of 2013.
Cotton was a four-year varsity letterman at Alabama State University in Montgomery from 2008-11, earning Second-Team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honors and serving as team captain as a senior. He then served as a student assistant coach during the 2012 season. Cotton was a member of the Dean's List from January 2011 to May 2013, when he graduated with a B.S. in physical education.
