Cameron O’Neal joined the Birmingham-Southern football coaching staff in July of 2016.
He came to the Panthers after three years as a defensive graduate assistant at the University of North Carolina (2013-15) where he assisted with the linebackers and defensive backs. O’Neal also has experience at the high school level. He coached corners and helped coordinate an Alabama 5A defense to the state championship game while with Saraland High School.
O’Neal was a four-year letterwinner at the University of Southern Mississippi. He helped lead Southern Miss to a 12-2 record and Conference USA Championship in 2011. Voted all-time team captain by his peers, he earned starts at safety and nickel back.
