Joe White joined the BSC Football coaching staff in June 2012 as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach.
White came to the Hilltop after a year at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, where he was the Wide Receivers Coach. Prior to that, the native of Central Valley, N.Y., was Head Coach at Rhodes College in Memphis for 14 years. He led the Lynx to 64 wins in his tenure, ranking him second in all-time wins for the program.
Prior to working at Rhodes, White was at Columbia University in New York, N.Y., where he served as Assistant Varsity Coach from 1989-97, coaching the running backs and special teams and also coordinating recruiting efforts. He was Head Freshman Football Coach from 1987-88, helping the team to an undefeated record in the '87 season. From 1986-87 he was the Assistant Freshman Coach and Offensive Coordinator.
From 1982-85, White worked at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass. He began as Assistant Freshman Coach, then moved to Assistant Varsity Coach and then Head Freshman Coach.
In January of 1994, White served as Assistant Coach for the Ivy League All-Stars in Tokyo, Japan. He has also assisted with several high-profile summer camps, including ones at Mississippi State, University of Florida, U.S. Naval Academy, and University of Utah.
White is a 1984 graduate of Springfield College with a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Biology. He went on to earn his Master's degree in Physical Education, focusing on Athletic Administration, in 1986.
