Panthers' skid continues, 65-56, to No. 10 Trinity

Box Score

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The BSC men dropped their third in a row tonight, 65-56, against SCAC West rival Trinity University, who is ranked 10th in the nation by D3Hoops.com.

The Panthers did a good job hanging with the West-leading Tigers, but faltered down the stretch.  The game was tied at 42 with just over ten minutes to go.  The Tigers outscored the Panthers 23-14 in the final minutes, due in large part to Trinity's free-throw shooting.  Trinity hit 16-of-19 attempts from the line from the ten-minute mark to the end of the game, BSC hit just 6-of-11 over the same period.

The Panthers were led by #Aaron Parr# with 14 points on the night, #Nathan West# finished right behind him with 13 points.  By contrast, there were five Tigers in double-digits led by Patrick Robinson's game-leading 21.  #Michael Rebarchak# led the Panthers on the boards with seven.

The Panthers outshot the Tigers from the floor, going 40-percent compared to 39-percent for Trinity, and neither team shot well from distance with BSC at 25-percent and TU at 31-percent.  It was at the foul line that the game was decided.  The Tigers shot a combined 71-percent from the charity stripe, the Panthers could only manage 56-percent for the game.

BSC will return tomorrow afternoon to host Southwestern University at 4:00 p.m. at Bill Battle Coliseum.
