Dear Birmingham Southern Basketball Fan,
I trust this letter finds you doing well in anticipation of another basketball season on the Hilltop. We are now in year 3 of the rebuilding of BIRMINGHAM SOUTHERN BASKETBALL! We are optimistic that the hard work of our staff and players will begin to pay dividends as we continue to compete for the SCAC Championship! We are very excited about our returning players and what we think is an outstanding recruiting class!
The 2009-2010 Basketball Schedule is now complete. We will play 14 games in the “friendly confines” of Bill Battle Coliseum which has always been a tremendous home court advantage. Once again, the Panthers will play 16 challenging SCAC contests and 9 non-league games. SCAC competition is at an all time high! Last season Centre and Trinity were ranked in the Top 25 and made it to the NCAA Tournament. Depauw and Oglethorpe have excellent teams returning for the 09-10 season and strong rivalries have already developed with Rhodes, Oglethorpe and Sewanee, games to which many of you made the road trips last season!
