Hot-shooting Panthers cruise to 92-51 semifinal win over Franciscan

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio—Birmingham-Southern (22-4) shot 54.1 percent from the floor and 13-of-32 from three-point range en route to a 92-51 win over host Franciscan University (4-20), Friday night, in the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Provisional Tournament in Steubenville, Ohio.

Junior Jasen Jonus led the Panthers with 15 points, followed by senior Patrick Price and sophomore Kevin Kegarise with 14 points apiece. Sophomore Zac Richards added 12 points, while sophomore Blaise White scored eight points and dished out five assists. Thirteen players scored for BSC as the Panthers held Franciscan to 35-percent shooting on the night.

BSC led by 15 at the half, 46-31, and stretched out to its largest lead of the game at the final buzzer.

The Panthers will face Covenant College in the championship game tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET.
