Panthers rise to eighth in Top 25

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team saw yet another jump in its national ranking this week, going up two spots to eighth in the nation in the Top 25 poll.

The Panthers are 22-1 overall and 14-1 in the SCAC, having clinched the top spot in the East Division and the overall best record in the conference with two wins this past weekend at home. BSC has also won 15 straight games and 41 straight home games.

BSC steps out of conference play tonight with a road game against future Southern Athletic Association rival Berry College at 7 p.m. ET. The Panthers are then at home on Saturday for the regular-season finale, facing Oglethorpe at 5 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum before hosting the 2012 SCAC Championship the following weekend, Feb. 24-26.
