ATLANTA, Ga.—Senior guard Blaise White (Roswell, Ga.) has been named Southern Athletic Association Player of the Week for games played Dec. 31-Jan. 6, the league office announced today.
White had two impressive games this past weekend, helping the Panthers improve to 3-0 in the league with wins against Sewanee and Centre. On Friday against the Tigers, he scored a career-high 25 points, hitting 6-of-12 from the field including 4-of-9 from three-point range as well as 9-of-10 at the free throw line. Against Centre on Sunday, White poured in 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting and a 4-of-6 showing from beyond the arc, including a three-pointer with 16 seconds left to put BSC up by four for the win. He also led the team with eight rebounds, five steals, and three assists against the Colonels. For the week, White averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists while shooting .591 from the field, .533 from long-range, and .769 at the free throw line.
The Panthers are on the road this Wednesday, facing non-conference in-state rival Huntingdon in Montgomery at 7 p.m. before returning home to take on SAA foe Millsaps on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Bill Battle Coliseum.
