BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—After being named the SAA Player of the Week, Birmingham-Southern junior Larry Thomas was named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week today.
Thomas had an outstanding week, averaging 28.3 points and 7.0 rebounds a game while shooting 55.8 percent from the field, 40.7 percent from three-point range, and 84.2 percent at the free throw line. Against Huntingdon last Tuesday, he scored a career-high 40 points, and then led the Panthers with 20 points against Hendrix on Friday and 25 against Rhodes on Sunday.
Thomas' heroics against Rhodes included drilling the clutch game-tying three-pointer with 32 seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime. He is now six points away from hitting 1,000 career points as a junior. Thomas also had four assists, three steals, and two blocks on the week.
