BSC Falls to Sewanee 80-63

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men's basketball team dropped a road game to Sewanee on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Tigers 80-63.

The Panthers scored the opening basket of the game, but Sewanee took the lead from BSC early on and never surrendered it.

Sophomore guard Cole DenBesten (Orlando, Fla./Berry College), coming off the bench, led the Panthers with 16 points. Senior forward Harrison Deneka (Memphis, Tenn./Christian Brothers HS) finished with 14 points and eight rebounds.

With the loss, Birmingham-Southern drops to 1-2 in the Southern Athletic Association and 4-10 overall. BSC's next game will be at home against Hendrix. Tip-off for the game is slated for 8 p.m. CT.
