ROME, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s golf team finished seventh overall in the 2008 Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational hosted by Berry College on Monday and Tuesday in Rome, Ga. Nick Blakely had the strongest combined score for BSC with a fifth-place individual finish.
Southeastern University finished first in the team competition at eight-over par (584 points), with the host, Berry, coming in one stroke back at nine-over (585). Birmingham-Southern shot a 602 in the two rounds or 26-over par as a team.
Sam Curtis of Berry College had the lowest overall total score for an individual with 141 points for a three-under score on the tournament. BSC’s Nick Blakely shot a combined 145 for a one-over finish over the two day event.
The Panthers will be at the UNA Golf Classic, hosted by North Alabama on Monday, October 13. The event is being held at the Blackberry Trail Golf Course in Florence. The event will conclude on Tuesday, October 14.
