Berry and Lee lead after two rounds of 'Southern Showdown, Panthers in fourth

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. After two rounds of play in the 2008 'Southern Showdown at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley Golf Course, Berry College and Lee University are tied for first place with scores of 604 and BSC's Nick Blakely and Berry's Samuel del Val lead with scores of 142 each.

Mobile stands at third with 613, followed by Birmingham-Southern at fourth with 614 and William Carey at fifth with 618.

In the individuals, Lee's M.J. Daffue stands at third with 145, followed by Spring Hill's Ricky Escobar with 148 and Mobile's Cameron Smith with 149.

Today's overall low round was carded by Blakely, who hit a 67 in the second round.

BSC's Josh Rabbit also placed in the top 10 with 151.

The final round tees off tomorrow at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
