ATLANTA—The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team tied for ninth at the Emory Spring Invitational at the Druid Hills Golf Course, led by Michael Wallace who shot 78 and 70 to finish 17th overall.
The Panthers recorded a team score of 606, tying for ninth place with No. 25 Rhodes, seven strokes behind No. 1 Guilford and No. 15 Centre. No. 3 Methodist was the overall winner with a score of 582, followed by No. 6 Oglethorpe and No. 8 Transylvania tied for second, No. 14 Greensboro at fourth, No. 18 LaGrange at fifth, and No. 19 Emory at sixth.
BSC scored better than No. 10 Christopher Newport, No. 11 Huntingdon, No. 20 Gustavus Adolphus, Otterbein, Berry, Piedmont, and Maryville.
Wallace tied for 17th overall with a combined score of 148, followed by Landon Michelson at 35th with 152, Daniel Morris at 38th with 153, Thomas Ray at 46th with 154, and Matt Kelly at 61st with 157. None of the five Panthers shot worse than a 79, with the low round coming from Wallace on day two with 70.
