CALLAWAY GARDENS, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern Men's Golf team shot an aggregate score of 647 over 36 holes to finish 13th at the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate against some the nation's best NCAA Division III Schools. Playing in extremely cold temperatures, The Panthers shot an opening round 325 and a final round 322.
Daniel Morris was the top individual for the Panthers with a 159, shooting an 80 and 79 on the par 72, 7032-yard course. Tyler Shope carded a 79-83 for a 162 (51), followed by Thomas Boydstun with an 84-79 for a 163 (T57). Phillip Brol had an 82-82 for a 164 (T61) and Nick Vick had a 91-82 for a 173 (T91).
SAA member Oglethorpe won the team title with a 591 (292-299) followed by Methodist with a 611 (313-298) and LaGrange with a 620 (302-318). Emory University was fourth with a 625 (318-307) while Rhodes, Averett, and Greensboro tied for fifth with a 626.
Oglethorpe's Anthony Mccaglia fired an opening round four-under 68 and a closed with a 77 to win medalist honors followed by teammate Eric Quinn with a 71-75 for a 146.
