ROME, Ga.—The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team finished tied for 12th at the Chick-fil-a Collegiate hosted by Berry College at Stonebridge Golf Course in Rome, Ga.
The Panthers shot a two-round score of 608 (306-302), tied with Talladega. Freshman Tanner Dixon was the top finisher for BSC with 149 (75-74), finishing 26th, followed by freshman Patrick Newsom with 152 (74-78), senior Michael Wallace with 154 (79-75), sophomore Nick Vick with 156 (81-75), senior Daniel Morris with 158 (78-80), and freshman Jonathan Cook with 163 (79-84).
Oglethorpe's B unit won the two-day event. The Stormy Petrels fired a 576 (285-291), which was two shots better than runner-up St. Andrews Presbyterian College.
Anthony Amodeo of OU was the medalist. He shot 139 (69-70), three shots ahead of Spring Hill's Wesley Hunter and St. Andrews Presbyterian's Matthew Latham with 142 each.
The Panthers are back in action next week at the Royal Lakes Invitational at Royal Lakes Golf Course in Oakwood, Ga., Oct. 7-8.
