Men's Golf finishes 15th at Royal Lakes Fall Invitational

OAKWOOD, Ga.—The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team played at the Royal Lakes Fall Invitational in Oakwood, Ga., Monday and Tuesday, finishing 15th.

The Panthers carded 629 over two rounds, led by freshman Patrick Newsom with 153 (75-78), who placed 34th overall. Freshman Jonathan Cook shot 154 (74-80) and was 38th, followed by senior Daniel Morris with 159 (80-79), freshman Nick Vick with 164 (82-82), and freshman Tanner Dixon with 165 (81-84).

No. 19 LaGrange won with a two-round score of 575, followed by Averett and No. 20 Berry with 589, No. 7 Oglethorpe with 593, and Huntingdon with 594. No. 18 Greensboro was sixth with 596, No. 11 Rhodes was 11th with 615, and No. 3 Emory was 14th with 625.

LaGrange's Ozborn Theam was the individual champion, shooting 139 (71-68), followed by Averett's Onni Hurry with 140 (70-70).

The Panthers wrap up their fall schedule at the Millsaps Collegiate, Oct. 21-22 at Colonial Country Club in Madison, Miss.
