BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern College men's golf team has received votes for the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Division III national golf rankings. According to the rankings, the Panthers are ranked approximately 46th in the coaches' poll.
"This is a very exciting moment for the Birmingham-Southern men's golf program," said Head Coach Jason DeJiacomo. The program has never received votes before in the coaches' poll, and I am very proud of this team and their hard work over the past two years. We were ranked in the 90s starting last year and to be within the top-50 already this season is a testament to the work this team has put in consistently. Our goal is to compete in a National Championship and with their hard work, we'll accomplish that very soon!"
Southern Athletic Association foe Oglethorpe has been ranked at the top of the GCAA Division III Coaches' Poll, holding the top spot in all three fall rankings. The Stormy Petrols claimed five first-place votes in the latest poll.
