Men's Golf remains in fifth place after second round of SAA Championship

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.—After the second round of the 2016 Southern Athletic Association Men's Golf Championship, Birmingham-Southern remained in fifth place, improving upon yesterday's team score by five strokes.

The Panthers carded 292 today and now have 589, just seven strokes back from Centre College and nine strokes back from Rhodes at third.

Freshman Colin MacLane improved upon his score from yesterday, shooting 71 today to move to an 11th-place tie with a score of 145. Junior Patrick Newsom improved by one stroke, shooting 73 today for a total of 147, putting him tied for 16th. Senior Spencer Honey also shot a 73 today and stands tied for 19th with a two-round total of 149.

Action concludes tomorrow with round three at the Old Fort Golf Course.
