SAA CHAMPION: LaMay Wins Individual Title, Men Finish Fourth

MAUMELLE, Ark. – Steven LaMay (Parkland, Fla./Westminster Academy) shot a tournament low 68 to come back and tie for the Southern Athletic Association individual championship Sunday. The junior moved up 10 spots in the final round to earn the first conference title of his career.

 

LaMay was named first-team all-conference.  Thomas Iturbe (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright HS) and Gunnar Raney (Tampa, Fla./Plant HS) earned second team honors.

 

As a team, the Panthers finished a fourth overall after shooting a round low 287.  Both Iturbe and Colin MacLane (Oviedo, Fla./The Master's Academy) shot third round scores of 71. 

 

Iturbe and Raney would finish tied for 10th place overall.  MacLane finished in 26th place.
