SAA Tournament: Panthers Finish Fifth in Conference

DICKSON, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men's golf team finished fifth at the 2018 Southern Athletic Association Tournament on Sunday.

The Panthers were led by senior Steven LaMay (Parkland, Fla./Westminster Academy), who shot 74 on Sunday, and junior Colin MacLane (Oviedo, Fla./The Master's Academy), who shot a 77 in the final round. Both golfers finished tied for 16th at 13-over par.

Senior Torben Krieger (Ruppichteroth, Germany / Bodelschwingh-Gymnasium Herchen) also placed in the top 25, finishing at 15-over.

Sophomore Conley Miller (Hoover, Ala./Spain Park HS) tied for 27th with an 82 score on Sunday, while sophomore Blake Schambeau (Hoover, Ala./Hoover HS) tied for 30th with an 80 in his final round.

Sophomore Thomas Iturbe (Mobile, Ala./UMS-Wright Prep) placed 37th, shooting an 80 in round three to finish at 23-over.

Rhodes College was the tournament champion, finishing at 15-over as a team. Birmingham-Southern shot 46-over, 910.
