Men's Lacrosse wins big on the road, defeats Randolph College 15-1
LYNCHBURG, Va. - Led by #Christopher Buechele# with seven goals and #D.J. Ward# with seven assists, the Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team defeated Randolph College, 15-1, Monday evening in Lynchburg, Va. The Panthers move to 3-5 on the season with the win.
BSC scored three goals in the first quarter - two from Buechele assisted by Ward, and one by #Ryan Croft#. In the second quarter, #Jacob McPherson# scored two and Buechele scored another, all assisted by Ward, and Ward scored one assisted by Buechele to put BSC up 7-0 at the half.
In the third quarter, #Parker Samuel# found the net, assisted by Croft, Buechele scored twice more, assisted by Ward and #Chris Clarke#, and another Ward-from-Buechele goal gave BSC an 11-0 lead heading into the final quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Buechele and Ward both scored to put BSC up 13-0 before Randolph was able to find the net for its only goal of the game. Buechele and Ward wrapped up the scoring with the final two goals of the match to give the Panthers the 15-1 victory.
Buechele also led with 12 ground balls, and Ward collected 11. #Cameron Overton# spent all 60 minutes in goal for BSC and recorded three saves.
The Panthers stay on the road for their next match, taking on Randolph-Macon College this Wednesday, March 25, at 2:30 p.m. ET in Ashland, Va.
