Men's Lacrosse falls 18-9 to Trine

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Birmingham-Southern (3-8) Panthers could never get their offense going and fell 18-9 to the visiting Trine University (3-6) Thunder at Panther Stadium Friday night.

The Panther defense gave up five goals before getting on the board themselves and were never able to recover.  The Thunder dominated the ground battle, taking 64 ground balls to BSC's 48 on the game.  The Panthers also committed nine more turnovers (37-28) allowing the Thunder to keep the ball on their side of the field for much of the game.  Only the shot total was balanced, with Trine edging the Panthers 44-43.

#Christopher Buechele# scored the first goal for the Panthers.  He and #D.J. Ward# and #Jacob McPherson# were the only Panthers to score more than once, they each had two.

The Panthers will have to rebound quickly, as they face Fontbonne University at 2:00 p.m. this Sunday at Panther Stadium.
