CUMMING, Ga. -- Alex Vander Hoff scored four goals to lead Greensboro College (2-4) to a 10-5 win over the Birmingham-Southern Men's Lacrosse team (2-3) Saturday in a neutral site game played at West Forsyth High School.
Andrew Huffman made 10 saves for BSC while GC's Mitchell Kanowicz registered five saves.
The Panthers held a 2-1 lead after the first period. Lalande scored an unassisted goal with 12:47 left and DeRosa added a goal just over two minutes later to give BSC a 2-0 lead. Scott Schowalter got GC on the board for the first time with 1:19 remaining.
Vander Hoff tied the game off an assist from Brodie Ceperich less than two minutes into the secon quarter. Ivie gave the Panthers the lead off a pass from Raffanti with 12:15 to go only to see Justin Pearson tie the game, 3-3, at the 7:43 left in the second.
Schowalter, Blaine Wise, Vander Hoff and Ryan Kissner tallied third quarter goals to give Greensboro a 7-3 heading to the final period.
Maxx Aiken started the fourth quarter scoring to give GC an 8-3 lead before Nicco DeRosa cut the deficit to 8-4 at the 10:18 mark.
Vander Hoff gave GC a 9-4 edge with 4:35 remaining and Mike Vansickle added BSC's final goal with 3:23 to cut the lead to 9-5.
Vander Hoff scored with 2:38 left in the final quarter for the final goal of the afternoon.
Birmingham-Southern plays St. John's Fisher at Lambert High School in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday.
