BSC Men’s Lacrosse Falls To St. John’s Fisher, 7-4

SUWANEE, Ga. – Evan Lalande scored three goals but Birmingham Southern (2-4) could not hold a 4-3 lead in a 7-4 loss to St. John Fisher (3-1) in a neutral site game at Longhorn Stadium Friday in Suwanee.

Lalande gave BSC a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal with 13:27 left in the first quarter before St. John Fisher scored two goals to close the quarter with a 2-1 lead.

Lalande's second goal tied the game, 2-2, at 11:41 of the second quarter before­ Michael Russell gave St. John Fisher a 3-2 lead with 5:44 remaining.

Lalande and Matt Ivie added the final two goals of the second quarter to give BSC a 4-3 halftime lead.

St. John Fisher added two goals in the third and fourth quarters to earn the 7-4 win.

Luke Herline and Connor Carman had two ground balls apiece while Andrew Huffman recorded 13 saves for BSC.

Michael Boisvert and Jeff Wester led SJF with two goals apiece while Wster had three assists.  Pat Russell had a team-high three ground balls. Goal keeper Jame Campagna registered 12 saves.

The Panthers return home to host Southern Athletic Association member Millsaps at Panther Stadium on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
