DELEWARE, Ohio -- Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse could not overcome a fast start by Ohio Wesleyan in a 24-4 loss on Wednesday at Selby Stadium.
The Panthers fell to 3-6 overall while Ohio Wesleyan improved to 5-4.
Matt Ivie scored the Panthers first goal with 6:16 left in the second quarter while Evan Lelande and Reed Butler scored unassisted goals in the third quarter. Mike Vansickle tallied BSC's final goal with 11:04 remaining in the final period.
BSC had 26 shots and were led by Lelande with five.
The Panthers were 11-of-20 on clears, including 5-of-8 in the third quarter.
Andrew Huffman made 14 saves in goal for BSC while Jonathan Duncan made eight saves and Ryan McMahon had two for OWU.
OWU was led by Kyle Foster with four goals and an assist. Sam Gioseffi had a game-high seven ground balls.
Birmingham-Southern returns to action against SAA member Rhodes College on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Memphis, Tenn.
