DANVILLE, Ky.--Playing on the road in Southern Athletic Association action, the Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team lost to Centre College, 14-3, Sunday afternoon at Farris Stadium in Danville, Ky.

The Panthers fall to 4-8 overall and 2-2 in the SAA with the loss, while the Colonels move to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in league play.

Centre opened the game with three first-quarter goals before BSC scored to open the second quarter on a man-up goal by senior Matt Ivie courtesy of an assist from senior Nicco DeRosa.

The Colonels went on to score four straight, however, going up 7-1 before the Panthers' next goal, this time an unassisted goal from Ivie at the 7:16 mark. Centre scored once more before halftime to lead 8-2 at the half.

Freshman Luke Herline scored for BSC to open the third quarter, assisted by senior Brennan Ott, but it would be the last goal of the game for the Panthers. Centre scored once more in the third quarter and then put away five unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to win 14-3.

Senior Andrew Huffman played nearly the entire game in goal, recording 14 saves. Sophomore Conor Perine also saw action.
