BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Casey Kear has been voted the Southern Athletic Association Coach of the Year, the league office announced today. Additionally, five Panther players have earned All-Conference honors.

Kear just wrapped up his second successful season at the helm of the BSC program, leading the Panthers to back-to-back winning seasons and trips to the semifinals of the SAA Championship. This past year, BSC was 9-7 and nearly upset eventual conference champion Sewanee, taking the Tigers to overtime this past weekend before losing 11-10.

Senior defender Billy McMahon also earned First-Team All-Conference honors, while sophomore attack McHale Schneider was named to the Second Team. Freshman attack David Arnold and freshman midfielder Peyton Heard also were named to the Honorable Mention All-SAA Team.
