Nathan Haywood to join Panther Soccer

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern soccer is pleased to announce the addition of Nathan Haywood to next year’s team.  Nathan is a 6-3 defender out of Fairhope.

Haywood was a four-year letter-winner and senior team captain for the Fairhope High School Pirates, where he helped his team to a 2008 State Semifinal appearance.  Nathan was named a member of the All-County, All-Metro, and Alabama All-Star South Teams in 2008.

Nathan played club ball with the Blast Soccer Club, where he was named MVP in 2006 on the state championship team.  He was named MVP in 2007 for the Blast again.

Haywood also takes care of business in the classroom.  He will graduate Fairhope with a 4.0 GPA and an AP Honors Diploma.  He was also an officer of the National Honors Society, a Guy Snavely Honors Award winner, and a finalist for the Rushton Scholarship at Birmingham-Southern College.

Nathan plans to study Chemistry at BSC when he joins the Panthers next Fall.
