Pirates take Panthers 2-1 in Georgetown
GEORGETOWN, Texas - The BSC men's soccer team lost a tough one on Sunday at Southwestern University, 2-1 at the end of their 2008 Texas swing. The loss drops Southern to 2-14 on the season, the Pirates improved to 8-8.
Southwestern outshot the Panthers 21-8 on the day. They netted their two goals in the first half and were able to hold off BSC for the win. David Lozano scored in the 20th-minute off an assist from Kevin O'Neil through the Panther defense. Southwestern struck again in the 31st when Tom Holleman connected off a rebounded shot off of Hal Halbert's hands.
BSC got it's only goal of the roadtrip in the 72nd-minute off a penalty kick. Scott Shelton found the back of the net thanks to a yellow card from Colin McCulloch.
The Panthers will return to the Hilltop this Halloween weekend in thier final home-series of the 2008 season. They will host Sewanee on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and will close-out the weekend on Sunday at noon versus Oglethorpe.
