SAN ANTONIO – The Birmingham-Southern (2-13) Panthers lost 7-0 to the #1-ranked Trinity (15-0) Tigers Friday night. The Tigers are ranked #1 in the NSCAA Division III rankings, and currently sit atop the SCAC standings.
The Tigers didn’t take long to get going in front of their home crowd. Cameron Hogsett connected off a pass from Noe Casanova in the fourth-minute to take an early 1-0 lead, but they didn’t stop there. Trinity scored again in the 32nd-minute off another Casanova assist, this time to Joseph DeCosta. They would take the 2-0 advantage into the break.
The second half became the Patrick Floeck show, as the Trinity player scored four goals in the span of five minutes. Floeck scored in the 54th-, 56th, and twice in the 59th-minute to put the match well out of reach. In the 62nd-minute Cameron Hogsett got his second goal of the match, putting Trinity up by the final margin.
The Panthers will wrap-up their Texas trip on Sunday in Georgetown for a 12 p.m. match with the Southwestern University Tigers.
