MARYVILLE, Tenn. – The Maryville College (10-3) Scots scored in the 7th-minute and held on the rest of the way defeating the Birmingham-Southern (2-12) men’s soccer team 1-0 Thursday night.
The Panthers were never able to get a footing on the offensive end of the pitch. BSC managed just 8 shots in the game, four in each half. The Maryville keeper made five saves to preserve the shut-out and send Southern home empty-handed.
BSC will be on the road again next weekend, as they travel to Texas for a pair of SCAC opponents. Friday, the Panthers will travel to San Antonio for a 6:00 p.m. match at Trinity. On Sunday they will square-off with Southwestern at noon from Georgetown.
