Men's Soccer adds two

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Head Coach Preston Goldfarb has announced the addition of two more players for the upcoming 2009 season.  Kyle Sherrin and Alex Perrotta will join the Panthers on the pitch next fall.

Kyle Sherrin is a 6-0 forward from Fairhope, Alabama.  Kyle brings both high school and club experience with him to the Hilltop.  As a two-year starter at Fairhope High School, Sherrin helped his team to Section Championships in 2006, 2007, and 2008; the state semi-finals in 2008 and the state quarter-finals in 2006.  He was named MVP of the North-South All-Star Game as well as a member of the All-Mobile Metro First Team in 2008.  Kyle also played for the Blast Soccer Club from 2001-2008.  He helped lead his team to a 2006 State Championship as well as numerous tournament wins.  Kyle was chosen as team MVP three times by his coaching staff.

Alex Perrotta will be joining the Panthers as a defender next season.  The Atlanta native played at the Marist School.  A flexible player, Alex played many different positions during his high school years for both Marist and his club team, Buckhead F.C.  His high school is continually ranked among the best athletic programs in the country.  His team defeated the number one team in the State of Georgia twice and maintained a top-five ranking for most of the season.  Perrotta is described as strong and stocky but with a delicate touch for the ball, as well as being a great teammate.

Both Sherrin and Perotta will look to make significant contributions for the Panthers next season.

They join Clint Lum of Pearland, Texas in the new recruiting class.
