Men's Soccer adds Busby and Evans

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -  BSC soccer coach Preston Goldfarb has announced two more additions to next season’s freshman class.

Brooks Busby is a 5-9 midfielder/forward from Homewood, Ala. He was a four-year letter-winner for Coach Sean McBride at HHS. Brooks is a two-time All-Metro Tournament and Lakeshore Shootout Team selection.   Last year he was named Overall Offensive MVP of the Lakeshore Shootout as well as a 2009 All-State Honorable Mention.  Busby plays club soccer with Birmingham United which is a member of the U.S. Soccer’s Development Academy Program.

Busby is a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club and was also elected Senior Class Treasurer. He was also named a 2010 Who’s Who Most Involved. A two sport athlete for the Patriots, Brooks also received three letters for the Homewood football team where he was named 2009’s Outstanding Defensive Back of the Year.

The son of Dale and Ginger Busby, Brooks intends to begin studying Engineering once arriving on The Hilltop this Fall.


Jeremy Evans is a 5-6 midfielder/defender out of Panama City, Fla. He was a four-year letter-winner for Coach Rick Sylvester at Arnold High School. Jeremy is a three-time All-County selection as well as a two-time team MVP for the Marlins. He was named best defender in 2008, best offensive player in 2010, and was a two time honoree for “best fitness” in 2009 and 2010. Evans plays club soccer with the Bay United Soccer Club.

Evans is a member of the National Honor Society, ranked fourth in his senior class. He is also an AP Scholar with honors. 

The son of Bussie and Melissa Evans, Jeremy plans to study Veterinary Medicine with a minor in foreign languages in the Fall.
