BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team fell at home to Maryville College, 2-0, Sunday afternoon at BSC Soccer Park. The Panthers fall to 3-2-1 on the season, while the Scots move to 2-3.
Both of MC’s goals came in the second half, as Tom Webster scored in the 68th minute, assisted by Sutton Cash, and Tyler Tinker scored in the 83rd minute off a corner kick from Cash.
The Scots out-shot BSC 18-11, led by Webster with five. Juniors Sean Head and Tyler Evans each recorded two shots for the Panthers.
In goal, Bryan Walker made five saves for Maryville for the shutout win. Senior Shachar Hovan made one save for BSC.
The Panthers are on the road for their next two games, opening Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play against Austin College, Sept. 24, in Sherman, Texas, and then traveling to Colorado Springs to take on Colorado College, Sept. 26.
