Men's Soccer plays to 1-1 tie with Covenant

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—In 110 minutes of men's soccer action Wednesday evening, Birmingham-Southern and Covenant played to a 1-1 tie at BSC Soccer Park.

The Panthers move to 5-4-3, while the Scots move to 7-6-1.

Covenant scored its goal in the first half when Garrison Dale scored off an assist from Danny Knight in the 23rd minute. The Scots kept the 1-0 lead for the remainder of the half.

BSC tied it up in the 59th minute on a diving header by junior Brooks Busby off a ball from senior Emil Saevarsson. Neither team was able to score again in the game.

The Panthers led in shots, 17-10 overall and 12-3 on-goal. Junior Tobias Winter led with five shots. Junior Alex Levinson played all 110 minutes in goal and recorded two saves.

BSC resumes Southern Athletic Association action this weekend at home, facing Hendrix on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 6:30 p.m.
