Men's Soccer enters NCAA Regional rankings

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The undefeated Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team (4-0) has entered the NCAA Division III Regional Rankings for the first time at the Division III level.

This week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tires Division III South Atlantic rankings featured the Panthers debuting at 10th. BSC is one of two Southern Athletic Association programs currently ranked regionally, as Centre (2-1-1) is seventh in the Great Lakes region.

Additionally, Birmingham-Southern has begun receiving votes in the D3soccer.com Top 25 Coaches' Poll, getting 63 points in this week's rankings.

Messiah College (4-0) is ranked first in the nation, while York College (3-0) leads the South Atlantic regional rankings.

"We are thrilled to finally be recognized for our play as a team by the voting members of both organizations," Head Coach Preston Goldfarb said, "but we must remain steadfast in our approach to each game and not allow ourselves to become complacent or satisfied by this recognition. We have a long way to go, but it sure is nice to finally get back in the polls, after not being there since our Division I and NAIA days."

The Panthers are in action at home this weekend, hosting the BSC Invitational in which they will face LeTourneau University on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and LaGrange College on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
