Men's Soccer shuts out Hanover, 3-0

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team shut out Hanover College, 3-0, Sunday afternoon on Preston Goldfarb Field at Berylson Park in the final game of the BSC Invitational.

BSC moves to 4-0-1 with their third straight win, while Hanover drops to 1-5.

The teams were scoreless for the first 31 minutes before senior Ryan Deveikis scored what would be the game-winner, assisted by junior Claudio Lipp. The 1-0 lead stood for the rest of the half and for almost eight minutes of the second half. In the 53rd minute, sophomore Spencer Nichols scored off an assist from sophomore Dominik Faber, and junior Bastian Jedliczka pushed the lead to 3-0 with about six minutes left in the game, assisted by Lipp.

BSC out-shot Hanover 24-4, led by Jedliczka with eight shots, five of those on-goal. Three Hanover keepers split time in the net, combining for seven saves.

The Panthers travel to face LaGrange for their next game, Saturday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. ET.
