BSC sweeps weekly SAA men's soccer awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern's Claudio Lipp and Josh Wild earned Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors from the Southern Athletic Association, the league office announced today.

Lipp, a midfielder from Deutschlandsberg, Austria, scored the game-winning goal against Greensboro College on Saturday and then recorded two assists in the 3-0 shutout of Hanover College on Sunday, including on the game-winning goal.

Wild, a defender from Brentwood, Tenn., anchored a BSC defense that allowed only two goals in two games this week, including the shutout of Hanover on Sunday.

The Panthers have won three straight games and are currently unbeaten at 4-0-1 on the season. They travel to face LaGrange College this Sunday at 2 p.m. ET in LaGrange, Ga.
