DANVILLE, Ky.—After giving up a goal late in the first half, the Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team lost 1-0 to Centre on the road, Friday evening in Danville, Ky.
The Panthers fall to 9-3-1 overall and 3-2 in the Southern Athletic Association; the Colonels move to 7-2-5 and remain unbeaten at 3-0-2 in league play.
Centre's goal came in the 41st minute, and the Colonels had plenty more chances to score, with senior BSC goalkeeper Jonas Heidrich recording an impressive 15 saves. Centre out-shot BSC 24-13, 16-7 on-goal, but corner kicks were even at five for each team.
The Panthers travel to face Sewanee on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Sewanee, Tenn., before returning home next weekend for the regular season finale, hosting Hendrix Nov. 1 at noon.
