BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—In the first weekly honors of the 2015-16 season, Birmingham-Southern's Dallas Coyne has been named the Southern Athletic Association Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Coyne, a junior defender from Vestavia Hills, Ala., got the season off to a memorable start for BSC, scoring three game-winning goals to help the Panthers open the year at 3-0. Against Huntingdon on Tuesday he scored the go-ahead goal late in the first half, and then against Wilmington on Friday and Louisiana College on Sunday he scored in overtime to help BSC win both games. Coyne took 10 shots, four on-goal, on the week with a .400 shot-on-goal percentage.
The Panthers travel to St. Louis, Mo., this weekend to face Fontbonne on Saturday at 11 a.m., and Washington University on Sunday at 7 p.m.
