  • BSC Holds Annual Athletics Dinner

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern athletics department announced the winners of its big awards and recognized the accomplishments of the student-athletes at its 2017 Athletic Awards Dinner Monday night in the Norton Great Hall on BSC’s campus.
  • Three Earn NSCAA Scholar All-Region Honors

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team saw three named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-South Region Team. Luke Etheridge (Nolensville, Tenn./Ravenwood HS), Patrick Erickson (Washington, D.C./St. Stephens & St. Agnes School), and Spencer Nichols (Jacksonville, Fla./Christ’s Church Academy) were recognized for the work in the classroom.
  • Coyne Named Second-Team All-Region

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Dallas Coyne (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) picked up another postseason honor. The defender was named second-team all-south region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Coyne was one of three Southern Athletic Association student-athletes recognized, and the only on second team.
  • SAA Announces Fall All-Sportsmanship Teams

    ATLANTA - The SAA announced the 2016 Fall Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams and 55 student-athletes among the league's eight full-time members and three affiliate members received recognition. Formed in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play amongst all competitors.
  • Kuerten, Wild Named to SAA All-Tournament Teams

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Seniors Bethany Kuerten (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS) and Josh Wild (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood HS) were named to their respective Southern Athletic Association All-Tournament teams.
  • Seven Named to SAA All-Conference Teams

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team saw its most Southern Athletic Association All-Conference honorees since 2014 Tuesday when seven Panthers were named All-SAA. Senior Dallas Coyne (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) and sophomore Galen Curry (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) earned first-team honors for their play this season.
  • SAA Tournament: Panthers Fall 4-1 in Quarterfinals

    DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team fell 4-1 on the road at Centre College in the quarterfinals of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament. The Panthers close the 2016 season with a 9-6-1 overall record.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team starts its journey for a Southern Athletic Association championship this Saturday, Oct. 29. The fifth seeded Panthers travel to take on No. 4 seed Centre College at 3:30 p.m. ET.
  • Men’s Soccer Drops Heartbreaker in Double Overtime

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team fell 1-0 to Millsaps College Saturday night in a thriller as the Majors scored 30 seconds into the second overtime to secure the win and second place in the Southern Athletic Association. BSC concludes its regular season at 9-5-1 overall, 3-3-1 in conference.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College Hall of Fame class of 2016 was inducted Friday night. Frank “Buddy” Cairns (deceased), Rachel Malmborg Skweres, Joe Nasco, John Quinn, and Joe Thigpen join the long list of Panthers immortalized in the hall.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer senior Dallas Coyne (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) was named Southern Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
  • Coyne’s Hat Trick Lifts Panthers Over Berry 4-1

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team rallied four second half goals to defeat Berry College 4-1 Sunday afternoon on Preston Goldfarb Field. Dallas Coyne (Vestavia Hills, Ala./Vestavia Hills HS) had a hat trick as BSC (9-4-1) improved to 3-2-1 in Southern Athletic Association play and now have a chance at hosting the first round of the conference tournament.
  • Panthers Battle Conference Leader to 0-0 Tie

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie against Southern Athletic Association leader Oglethorpe University Friday night on Goldfarb Field. The Panthers (8-4-1, 2-2-1) fended off 12 second half shots to force the extra minutes.
  • Men’s Soccer Wins 2-1 in OT at Sewanee

    SEWANNE, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team picked up its second Southern Athletic Association win of the season on the road Sunday at Sewanee. The Panthers scored with 30 seconds remaining in overtime to win 2-1 and improve to 8-4 overall on the season, 2-2 in SAA play.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team fell to Emory University 3-2 in overtime Tuesday night on Goldfarb Field after scoring two goals in the final 15 minutes of regulation. It marked the Panthers first home loss this season. They moved to 7-3 overall on the year.
  • Men’s Soccer Drops Physical Battle with Rhodes, 1-0

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team moved to 7-2 overall, 1-1 in Southern Athletic Association play, Saturday with a 1-0 loss to Rhodes College in a physical defensive showdown.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team defeated Covenant College 2-1 Tuesday night in overtime on Goldfarb Field. Connor Quiggle (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin HS) scored the game winner two minutes into extra minutes. BSC improved to 7-1 overall with the win.
  • Panthers Pick Up Third Shutout Win in SAA Home Opener

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team earned its third shutout win of the season in their Southern Athletic Association home opener Saturday afternoon, topping Hendrix College 3-0. The Panthers remain undefeated at home, improving to 6-1 overall, 1-0 in the SAA.
  • Second Half Goal Lifts Panthers Over Hampden-Sydney

    HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team made the most of its shot opportunities Sunday en route to a 2-1 win over Hampden-Sydney College. Josh Wild (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood HS) scored the game winner in the 60th minute. The Panthers finished second in the Tiger/Wildcat Classic and had four named to the all-tournament team.
  • Panthers Fall 2-0 on the Road to Randolph

    LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team fell 2-0 Saturday at Randolph College for their first loss of the year. The Panthers (4-1) earned more corners and more shots on goal than Randolph, but could not get through to score.

    LAGRANGE, Ga. – In their first match in nine days, the Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team shutout LaGrange College 3-0 Wednesday night on Panther Field. Three seniors provided the goals to lift BSC to victory. The Panthers are now 4-0 on the year.
  • Panthers Rout Louisiana College 9-0 at Labor Day Classic

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College men’s soccer team moved to 3-0 overall on the season with a 9-0 win against Louisiana College Monday afternoon to close out the 2016 BSC Labor Day Classic. Eight different goal scorers pitched in for the win, while the BSC defense dominated, not allowing a single shot from the Grizzlies.
  • Lynn Helps Lead Panthers Past Franklin in 3-1 Win

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College men’s soccer team defeated Franklin College 3-1 in day one of the 2016 Labor Day Classic at Preston Goldfarb Field Sunday afternoon. Freshman Jackson Lynn (Homewood, Ala./Homewood) scored his first two collegiate goals, including the game winner. BSC moved to 2-0 overall.
