Panthers Drop Nail-biter 3-2 to Centre

DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern men's soccer team moved to 7-4 overall and 1-2 in the Southern Athletic Association with a 3-2 loss at Centre College Friday night.

Both teams were scoreless in the first half.  After Centre opened scoring in the 53rd minute, Conner Quiggle (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin HS) sent the ball to the left side of the net for his third goal of the season in the 61st minute.

No one would score for over 20 minutes until the Colonels regained the lead with 6:01 to play.  The Panthers responded quickly.

Dylan Rose (Brentwood, Tenn./Ravenwood HS) took a pass from Trey O'Bryant (Tuscaloosa, Ala./Northridge HS) less than two minutes later to score the equalizer.

But Centre put the game winner in with 1:09 left in the game.

The Panthers head to Sewanee next.  They face-off at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9.
