BSC downs LeTourneau at home, 6-3

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern men's tennis (1-3) won four singles matches to clinch a 6-3 win over LeTourneau (9-2) on Friday at the BSC Tennis Courts.

The Panthers won two-of-three doubles matches to carry a 2-1 lead into singles.  Stewart Thrash and Sawyer Voges team up for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles and Tony DaMaia and Christian Matthews defeated Sindre Johnsgarrd and Kendall Beggs, 8-4 at No. 2. 

In singles, BSC won at No. 1, 3, 4 and 6 spots to clinch the match.  Voges won a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Carlos Cantu at the No. 1 while Patrick Hire won 2-6, 6-4 and 10-8 in a 10-point tiebreaker at No. 3. Tony DaMaia captured a 6-3, 6-2 win at No 4 over Johnsgaard and Ben Reardon won 6-0, 6-3 against Michael McLaughlin at No. 6.

Birmingham-Southern hosts Huntingdon College at the BSC Tennis Complex on Saturday at 1 p.m.
