Men's Tennis wins twice in Orange Beach

ORANGE BEACH, Ala.—With wins against Transylvania University and Point University, the Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team moved to 7-2 on the season this past weekend, playing in Orange Beach, Ala.

The Panthers swept Transy 9-0 and defeated Point 6-1 in a rain-shortened match.

Freshman Alex Makarenko leads BSC so far this season with a perfect 9-0 mark in singles play (mostly at four singles), and he and sophomore Patrick Hire are 7-1 at two doubles. Juniors Briant Brandt and Ben Reardon are 7-0, mostly at three doubles, and Reardon is also 7-2 in singles action.

The Panthers are back in action March 29 and 30, hosting Hendrix and Rhodes at 10 a.m. both days at the Ann Dielen Tennis Complex.
