ATLANTA, Ga.—The Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday, falling 6-3 to Oglethorpe in Atlanta, Ga.
The Panthers, ranked 16th in the Atlantic South region, fell to 5-1 overall and 0-1 in the Southern Athletic Association; the Stormy Petrels, who are ranked 13th in the region, moved to 5-6 overall and 1-1 in the SAA.
BSC fell behind in doubles, losing at all three positions by the scores of 8-6, 9-8, and 8-4. The Panthers battled back in singles play, winning at two, three, and six, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Petrels' lead.
The men's and women's teams are back on the courts tomorrow in Mount Berry, Ga., facing Berry College at 10 a.m. EDT.
