Panthers Top Point 6-3 After Sweeping Doubles

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men's tennis team defeated Point University 6-3 Sunday afternoon in their first match in over two weeks.  The Panthers swept doubles play en route to their third win this season. BSC is now 3-3 overall as a team.


Anthony Pellegrini (Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville HS) won his #3 singles match 6-4, 7-6.  Jamie Bekaert (Johns Creek, Ga./Rivers Academy) and Lee Thompson (Boaz, Ala./Boaz HS) also picked up singles wins at the #4 and #5 positions.  Bekaert won 6-3, 7-5, and Thompson finished first, taking his match winning 6-2, 6-4.


The Panthers remain at home for their next contest.  They take on Spring Hill Saturday, March 18 at 2 p.m.
